Your Information

Alpha Leadership Core

From the group of Alphas we select individuals to serve on the Alpha Leadership Core (ALC). The ALC will help facilitate the Freshmen Retreats and Freshmen Orientation. The ALC will play a vital role in helping incoming freshmen with their first college experiences. The ALC will assist faculty and staff with information sessions, team building activities and general facilitation of the retreat schedule. We aim to have a large ALC presence at the retreats this coming year, our goal is to have ten ALCs attend each retreat. ALC would make a great addition to your resume and provide you with great life experience. Accommodations and transportation will be provided.
Please check any retreat(s) you are able to attend.

Teaching Fellows

As you think about registration for the fall, please consider the opportunity to participate in the First Year Seminar Fellowship. Your schedule must allow you to attend the seminar from noon - 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.

***You must have a 3.0 GPA to be eligible and have full availability during the week of Orientation for the fall 2017 semester, August 12th-August 15th.

If you would like to be part of the Fellowship in conjunction with the ALPHA PROGRAM, talk with the faculty member with whom you would like to work, in this case they must be a FYS instructor. If you are unsure of the faculty member you would like to work with, but are still interested in the program, check the box below. Consider the professor who taught your FYS as a possibility.

Faculty/Staff Recommendation

The faculty/staff member that you ask to write a letter on your behalf will submit the Alpha Recommendation form found here within the Alphas website. They will provide a candid assessment of your ability to serve as an Alpha. The program calls for a great deal of enthusiasm for and commitment to the Catawba community. These qualities, as well as communication skills and maturity, will be addressed in their comments.
