Position Summary
The Academic Clinical & Lab Instructor provides direct supervision and instruction to undergraduate nursing students in clinical practice settings, simulation environments, and skills laboratories. The instructor supports competency development, clinical judgment, professional role formation, and preparation for NCLEX-RN success.
This position typically conducts three days per week of clinical, additional laboratory instruction days, and participates in program service, student evaluation, and faculty development activities.
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Instruction
- Supervise students in assigned clinical agencies
- Facilitate clinical reasoning, prioritization, and safe patient care
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Ensure compliance with agency and program requirements
- Communicate student progress to course faculty
Laboratory & Simulation Instruction
- Teach nursing skills and procedures using competency-based approaches
- Facilitate simulation scenarios including pre-briefing and debriefing
- Support development of clinical judgment aligned with NCLEX Next Generation expectations
- Maintain laboratory safety and equipment readiness
Student Evaluation
- Assess student competencies using standardized evaluation tools
- Document performance and remediation needs
- Identify at-risk students and collaborate on support plans
- Participate in advising related to clinical progression
Program Service
- Attend course and faculty meetings
- Contribute to simulation and skills development
- Support accreditation and program assessment activities

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) or related field preferred
- Current unencumbered RN license eligible for practice in the state
- Minimum 2–3 years clinical nursing experience
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, mentoring, and student success
- Clinical teaching, precepting, or simulation experience
- Familiarity with competency-based education and clinical judgment models
- Experience using electronic clinical evaluation systems

Catawba College (“Catawba”) seeks applicants for its Area Coordinator for Housing and Residence Life position. The Area Coordinator is pivotal in fostering a vibrant and supportive residential community at Catawba College. This live-in position oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned residential areas, providing leadership in student development, crisis management, and community building. The coordinator supervises a team of Resident Assistants (RAs) and collaborates closely with campus partners to enhance the overall student experience within the residential community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Directly supervise and facilitate Catawba Resident Assistant's recruitment, training, and
- Consistent with the Catawba Mission and Student Affairs priorities, create and implement a team development plan that includes, but is not limited to, individual meetings, weekly staff meetings, and team bonding activities.
- Supervise, train, and mentor Resident Assistants (RAs) to ensure adequate support and programming within assigned residential areas.
- Develop and implement community-building initiatives and residence hall programs that promote student engagement, inclusivity, and personal growth.
- Serve as a conduct officer, adjudicating student conduct cases and maintaining accurate documentation by college policies.
- Coordinate residence hall openings and closings, including room inspections, key distribution, and related administrative tasks.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies and serve in an on-call rotation to support students and enforce policies.
- Collaborate with Facilities Management for maintenance and custodial needs within residential facilities.
- Assist with selecting, training, and evaluating RAs and other residence life staff
- Participate in departmental and campus-wide committees and initiatives as
- Participate in on-call rotation with other Residence Life and Housing staff; work cooperatively with Academic Affairs, Chaplain Office, Catawba Public Safety, Student Health Services, Catawba counselors, and other campus and community resources to assist in emergencies and crises.

Catawba College Campus Recreation
Job Title: Intramural Graduate Assistant

Position Overview
This position will serve in an administrative role with the Intramural Sport Programs area within Campus Recreation. Applicants must be accepted into a graduate program at Catawba College in order to be selected. Students who apply for the position should have significant prior experience with sports officiating and/or sports programming in an accredited collegiate intramural sports program. This position is 11 months/25 hours per week, renewable on a yearly basis and is dependent on the maintenance of satisfactory academic standing, as well as acceptable performance reviews from the Coordinator of Health, Wellness, and Recreation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Program Administration
- Assist in the development and scheduling of seasonal intramural sports leagues, tournaments, and special events
- Maintain and update team registration, schedules, and results using the intramural management software (e.g. IMLeauges)
- Develop and maintain sport specific rules and regulations in accordance with the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) as well as Catawba College
- Assist in marketing and outreach strategies to increase program visibility and participation.
- Staff Supervision &Training
- i. Lead recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of intramural officials and intramural program assistant
- Lead weekly staff meetings with Intramural Program Assistant
- Help facilitate monthly staff development meetings for Campus Recreation Staff
- Provide on-site supervision of intramural events to ensure quality service and enforcement of rules
- Serve as a mentor and role model for student employees
- Risk Management & Safety
- Ensure that all intramural activities follow established safety protocols and risk management procedures
- Respond to all injuries, conflicts, or emergencies in a calm and professional manner, completing all the necessary incident reports
- Assist with the inspection of facilities and equipment for safety and compliance
- Participant Relations & Customer Service
- Serve as a point of contact for participant concerns, rule interpretations, and conflict resolution
- Promote an inclusive environment that encourages participation from diverse campus populations
- Monitor the participant conduct and ensure adherence to sportsmanship eligibility guidelines
- Assessment & Reporting
- Track and analyze participation trends, report incidents, and staff performance
- Provide feedback and recommendations for program involvement based on data and observations
- Assist in compiling semester and end of year reports summarizing program activities and impact
- Professional Development
- Attend departmental meetings, retreats, and training sessions as required

Required Qualifications
- Acceptance to the Master of Sport Management program at Catawba College
- Hold safety training/certification (American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, & AED) or acquire such certification within 30 days of hire.
- Work on average 25 hours per week with a few weekends required. Scheduling will be determined by the supervisor to meet needs of the program.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues.

Robertson College-Community Center & School of Performing Arts
Reports to the Executive Director of Conferences & Events and Venue Operations
Position Overview
The Technical Director (TD) serves as a key member of the Robertson College Community Center (RCCC) and School of Performing Arts team, providing technical leadership for a wide range of programming, including theatre, concerts, dance, film, and special events. The TD oversees all technical operations across three venues—Keppel Auditorium (1,500-seat proscenium) and the Hedrick Little Theatre (230-seat thrust), and manages scenery, stage operations, and associated technical elements for all building clients other than Theatre Arts.
The RCCC Technical Director works closely with other departmental production staff to ensure safe, efficient, and collaborative operations across the School of Performing Arts. Specifically:
- The Theatre Arts Technical Director manages the scene shop, theatre arts storage, and theatre equipment.
- The Theatre Costume Director manages the costume shop, dressing rooms, and costume-related equipment.
- The Music Department Production Manager oversees instrument movement, storage, and event set-up for music performances.
- Conferences and Events Senior IT Media Specialists
Successful productions and events depend on effective coordination among these roles. The RCCC Technical Director partners closely with the Theatre Arts Technical Director and the Music Department Production Manager to align schedules, share resources, and maintain the highest professional standards in production quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Technical Oversight & Production Support
- Oversee safe operation of all technical aspects of productions and events, including lighting, sound, projections, rigging, staging, and scenery.
- Review and implement technical riders; budget, plan, and staff events accordingly.
- Supervise and participate in load-ins, technical rehearsals, performances, and strikes except for theatre and music department events that are separately staffed.
- Train and supervise over-hire crews, student workers, and volunteers in safe operation of equipment and adherence to OSHA and DOL General Industry standards. Implement related certification processes.
- Serve as technical resource and collaborator for faculty, staff, designers, and guest artists.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during rehearsals and performances.
- Assist the Conferences and Events team with media services on campus, if needed.
Facilities & Equipment Management
- Operate, maintain, and safeguard all technical assets and stage facilities.
- Create and implement preventive maintenance plans for theatrical and facility systems.
- Monitor equipment condition; arrange for repair/replacement within budgetary limits.
- Maintain accurate technical space drawings, equipment inventories, and storage management systems.
- Create work orders for building systems as they impact production (HVAC, HEPA filtration, restrooms, dressing rooms, rehearsal and storage areas).
- Ensure facilities are ready and safe for use by productions, rentals, and community partners.
Planning, Budget & Administration
- Attend the RCCC Operations and Planning Committee, collaborating with faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Assist with production and facilities budgets, including repair, replacement, and capital planning.
- Provide cost analyses for technical elements of productions and special events.
- Assist in budget preparation for production and facility needs.
- Help develop long-term strategies for upgrades and equipment purchases.
Leadership & Training
- Lead the Stage Operations Team in safeguarding technical assets and maintaining quality standards.
- Establish and enforce uniform safety training, OSHA and other related certification, and protocols for all stage and shop activities.
- Recruit, train, and supervise technical staff and student crews; evaluate, hire, and train temporary labor
- Support summer education programs and special events with technical planning and execution.
- Foster collaborative, positive working relationships with staff, faculty, students, visiting artists, and community partners.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; effective working independently or as a team leader.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Thorough understanding of industry standards, methods, and safety protocols for theatrical venues and shops.
- Strong proficiency in scenic rigging.
- Demonstrated experience with theatrical lighting, audio, and visual systems (load-in, strike, maintenance, inventory).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with, 25Live, Teams and Zoom preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Experience managing budgets, creating cost analyses, and coordinating production schedules.
- Ability to recruit, evaluate, and train staff and crews.
- Candidate preferably has attained OSHA General Industry and/or construction, rigging, and electrical safety certifications.
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with coworkers, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.
- Ability to work irregular hours, lift up to 100 lbs. (with appropriate tools), and work at heights above 25’.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- B.A. in Theatre or equivalent professional experience required.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of current technical theatre trends and emerging technologies.
- Experience managing facilities, including rehearsal and storage spaces.
- Familiarity with vendor negotiations, purchasing, and inventory management.
