The 1851/Tower Society Dinner and Adrian L. Shuford, Jr. Award presentation took place on Sunday, March 19th in the Peeler Crystal Lounge of the Robertson College-Community Center.
The event recognizes donors who have made a gift of $1851 or more to the College during its fiscal years ending 2022 and 2023, those who have included Catawba in their estate plans, previous recipients of the Shuford Award, and members of the Board of Trustees.
Catawba President David Nelson presented the 2023 Adrian L. Shuford Award for Distinguished Service to Catawba College to Dr. Dolan Hubbard ’71, commending his many positive and selfless contributions to the College. Dr. Hubbard, Trustee Emeritus of the Catawba College Board of Trustees, served on the Board for twenty-nine years, from 1994 to 2023. Over 150 people gathered for the event, including family and friends of Dr. Hubbard.
