Cary, NC (Monday, June 2nd, 2008) - When the Carolina RailHawks women take the field on Friday, June 6th against the Bradenton Athletics at Wakemed Soccer park at 7:30 p.m., there will be four new players on the roster. Head Coach Jay Howell has added Nicole Danford, Ashley Gregory, Kim Crowley and McKenzie Burman to the official roster. Tickets for the first chance to welcome the newest RailHawks are only $8 and can be purchased at the LGFCU Box office or by calling 919-859-KICK.

Howell cited unforeseen injuries and scheduling conflicts as partial reason for the new personnel, in addition to the need to keep a competitive atmosphere.

"The additions were primarily based on merit; these players have come out and worked hard for us. It also keeps the mix competitive" Head Coach Jay Howell said.

The new additions include two former Catawba College players. Forward McKenzie Burman and midfielder Kim Crowley both played for the Indians before joining the RailHawks. Burman is a forward that Coach Howell says will bring a fire and high work rate to the RailHawk offense. Since graduating from Catawba midfielder Kim Crowley has worked as an assistant coach for the Indians. Her coaching knowledge gives her a differing way of looking at things that Coach Howell felt would be beneficial on the field.  Read More...
