Catawba College Trustee and 1983 Alumnus, William "Bill" Graham of Salisbury has been appointed by N.C. Governor Pat McCrory '78 to the State's Economic Development Board. McCrory announced appointments to this board in a July 15 news release.
Graham, a partner at the Salisbury law firm of Wallace & Graham, P.A., will serve as an at-large member of the board. He was among 22 people, including former political rivals, political allies and corporate leaders, appointed to the board that will recommend economic development policy to state officials.
Graham, who lost to McCrory in the 2008 Republican primary, served on McCrory's political committee in 2012.
He grew up in Dunn, N.C., attended St. Josephs College in Longford, Ireland, and then graduated from Catawba with a degree in political science. After his Catawba graduation, he attended Antioch University School of Law in Washington, D.C., for two years and completed his law degree at Wake Forest University School of Law.
Graham met his wife, the former Shari Marshall '83, while both were students at Catawba, and the couple was married on campus in the Omwake-Dearborn Chapel in 1986. They have two children, a son and a daughter.
Graham, a former member of Catawba's Board of Visitors, has served on Catawba's Board of Trustees since 2000 and currently serves as its vice-chair.
