Dr. J. Michael Bitzer, political expert and Professor of Politics at Catawba College recently commented on the negative approach of Mitt Romney's campaign ads. Polls show Romney heading toward victory in the Florida GOP primary, which is likely due to the relentless onslaught of negative ads attacking and targeting Newt Gingrich.

Bitzer says the ads were meant to tear down Gingrich and that they had a major impact. "It was completely negative, even if there was no coordination. I think he looked after South Carolina like he needed a firewall, and he was willing to build one no matter the cost."
