;;; The old maxim, "nothing is more permanent than change," is particularly apparent in world politics today. Change is taking place on the global level, no less than on the national one. The nature of international relations is undergoing a quiet revolution. Globalization and the accumulation of economic resources are rapidly replacing the old conception of power as a mechanical force. ;

At the next Catawba College Community Forum, Dr. Sanford Silverburg, senior professor of Political Science at Catawba, will present a broad overview of world politics today. His talk will draw a clearer picture of what we can anticipate on the global stage in the near future.

Dr. Silverburg holds a doctorate from American University and is a specialist in Middle Eastern affairs. He is a frequent commentator on currentEvents, particularly those involving American foreign policy. Professor Silverburg will once again address the Salisbury/Rowan community at the Catawba College Community Forum on Tuesday, January 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Tom Smith Auditorium of Ralph W. Ketner Hall on the campus of Catawba College. Admission, as always, is free.
