Catawba College was recently awarded a grant to start the Central N.C. Math Teachers' Circle which will offer its first session of national professional development programs for K-12 teachers this fall on campus. All interested teachers are encouraged to contact Dr. Sharon Sullivan, associate professor and chair of mathematics at Catawba, at slsulliv@catawba.edu for more information.

Dr. Sullivan, together with Rowan Salisbury middle school teachers, Renee Fox and Elizabeth Henley, recently attended the N.C. Math Teachers' Circle Summer Math Camp held at NCCAT in Cullowhee.

At this conference, they worked on problem solving techniques through various mathematical activities.
