Mike Hogewood, an Assistant Professor of Communication Arts at Catawba College, will be heavily involved in ESPN's coverage of the American Legion World Series August 11-16 in Shelby, North Carolina.

Hogewood will be the play-by-play announcer on half of the games in the tournament for ESPN, including the championship game on Tuesday, August 16 at 7:00 p.m. 

Rowan County's American Legion team is coached by Catawba Baseball head coach Jim Gantt. The team recently won both the state championship (for a second consecutive year) and the Southeast Regional championship, earning them a chance at the World Series title.
