Catawba College Wins at Metrolina Theatre Association Awards Competition

Four members of the Catawba College Theatre Arts Department were winners in the Metrolina Theatre Association's annual awards, presented in Charlotte on Sunday, September 20.

Winners included Guiseppe Ritorto of Greensboro, N.C., for music direction of "Urinetown;" Cory Burkhalter of Elma, N.Y., for costume design in "The Last Journey of No. 6330;" Caitlin Becka of Wilmington, N.C., for her role in "The Last Journey of No. 6330;" and Professor David Pulliam for direction in "The Last Journey of No. 6300."

Two Catawba graduates, Candace Neal and Michelle Fleishman, received performance awards at the ceremony.

Four members of the Catawba College Theatre Arts Department were winners in the Metrolina Theatre Association's annual awards, presented in Charlotte on Sunday, October 3.

Winners included John Stafford for Outstanding Musical Direction in Catawba's production of "Working;" Theatre Arts Professor Christopher D. Zink and student Amanda Lederer for Outstanding Lighting Design in Catawba's production of "Working" and Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Erin Dougherty for Outstanding Costume Design in the Collaborative Arts (of Charlotte) production of "The Comedy of Errors."
