Students and faculty of the psychology department will attend the annual meeting of the Southeastern Psychological Association in New Orleans, La., February 21-24.
Dr. Karen Horner, Dr. Lyn Boulter, and Dr. Sheila Brownlow will attend, along with students Lindsay Mellon, a senior from Berlin, Conn.; Katherine Fair, a senior from Fairbanks, Alaska; and Kathleen Blake, a junior from Greensboro.
Dr. Boulter will present research she conducted with Pam Thompson, chair of Catawba’s Ketner School of Business, entitled "An analysis of student satisfaction with facebook"
Dr. Brownlow will present work she conducted with students Katherine Fair; Lauren Fluegge, a senior from Avondale, Ariz.; and McKenzie Burman, a senior from Rolesville; entitled "Consistent gender-role interests as a cue to interpersonal judgments."
Dr. Brownlow also sponsored the research of Kathleen Blake and senior Kathleen Rebadow of Melbourne, Fla., which will be presented during the student research session of the conference. Their paper is "Getting by with a little help from our friends: Mental rotation ability after tacit peer encouragement."
