Dr. Paul Baker, a Catawba College mathematics professor, recently made a presentation to the Rowan County Ministerial Association about his mission trips to Russia and Cambodia.   He also delivered the sermon at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kannapolis on Feb. 13, along with the sermon for the 6 p.m. on-campus worship service that same day.

Baker, who makes mission trips each summer, plans to visit a Cambodian orphanage in early June, and Russian orphanages during the month of July.

Dr. Stephen Hiatt, a Catawba College marketing professor, continues his work with Salisbury City officials as they work to change the culture within the city organization.   He recently helped steer the City Fire Department through the “Good to Great” concept, which emphasizes finding the right people for the job and getting the wrong people out of the organization.
