Dr. Beth Homan, assistant professor of theatre arts at Catawba College, has been named coordinator of Catawba's First-Year Seminar Program, beginning immediately and running through the 2007-08 academic year. The appointment was announced by Dr. Barbara Hetrick, vice president and dean of the college.
Catawba's First-Year Seminar Program begins with a common summer reading which provides both a starting point and a context for a year-long conversation between new students and their faculty about globalization and consilience. This year's common reading text was “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini.
