Catawba College Professor Speaks at Conference and Community College

Dr. Sanford Silverburg, professor of political science at Catawba College, offered two lectures at the Chautauqua Andrews Valley Experience (AVE!) in Andrews, N.C. on October 13th and 14th.

Silverburg's lecture on October 13th was entitled "If Adversity Breeds Character, What Does the Lack of Energy Do?" and his lecture on October 14th was entitled, "The United States beyond the Past with an Unknown Future."

Silverburg also offered two lectures at Rockingham Community College on October 16th.  He spoke on "The 2008 Presidential Election: Minorities Seeking Majority Approval" and "The Modern Presidency: Which is More Important, Foreign Policy or Domestic Politics?"

Silverburg is a specialist in international relations and international law as well as the government and politics of the Middle East.  He has published and lectured internationally and has broad experience with governmental military affairs.
