Catawba College Professor Business Dr. Stephen Hiatt has been involved in a variety of activities outside the classroom.

Hiatt has served and will serve on the Salisbury Convention Center Task Force. He recently completed serving on the Business Incubator Task Force for the City of Salisbury. For the sixth consecutive year, Hiatt also served as the facilitator for the Retreat on Strategic Planning with the Board of the Community Care Clinic.

He completed a series of five workshops called "Good to Great" for the City of Salisbury Utilities Department and also conducted these same workshops for the Fire Department, Planning/Land Management Development, Public Service, Parks & Recreation, and for department heads of all departments. In preparation to conduct these workshops, he made a presentation explaining the series to the Salisbury City Council at its annual retreat earlier this year.   Also, for the second year at the Salisbury City Council retreat, Hiatt also served on the focus group of business leaders at the invitation of Mayor Susan Kluttz.

Hiatt recently authored the Instructor's Guide for International Business (by Czinkota, Ronkainen, and Moffett) published by Thomson/Southwestern Publishing, 2005.
