Catawba College political science professor Michael Bitzer said writing off North Carolina would be dangerous, considering the state’s history of Democratic governors, several undecided super delegates, and an expected strong voter turnout.

"If she is serious about this nomination fight, she has got to get as many votes and as many delegates as she can," said Bitzer. "In NC, it's 14 major metropolitan counties out of 100 that deliver 50 percent of the vote. If those numbers are going up in terms of registered number voters and those folks that are interested, she needs to take that in to consideration as well."
