The Best Face Forward event held on March 4th and 5th 2021 was a great success for our students and Catawba College. This event provided graduating seniors and other interested faculty and students with a free professional headshot and an alumni networking event.

The event was fully booked (95%) and a majority of the participants were graduating seniors. Faculty, staff, and students from across campus took advantage of this event to update their media presence.

Director of Career Services and Internships, Michael Frederick, was on hand throughout the event, helping students connect with our Catawba alumni via LinkedIn. Mr. Frederick was excited by the turnout, and hopes this can be developed as a regular event for our graduating students and the campus community.

In addition to a free professional portrait, this event included a raffle of three $25 gift cards, donated by the Ralph W. Ketner School of Business. The lucky winners were honors Environmental & Sustainability major Nina MacKinnon, Integrated Marketing and Communication major Keundre Rias, and Entrepreneurship/Music major Jake Woodard.

Special thanks to the professional photography skills of Miller Davis’ Donnie Moose, and the work of Assistant Professor of Communication Scott Morton, who provided the set up and contributed equipment to make the event a success.

This collaboration between Miller Davis, the office of Career Services, and the Department of Communication provides a great example of teamwork and service to our students, as we help them put their Best Face Forward in 2021.
