2008 Catawba College alumnus Justin Dionne is directing the upcoming production of The Retreat from Moscow by William Nicholson, the author and playwright of Shadowlands. The St. Thomas Players and Center for Faith & the Arts are presenting the production, which runs August 2-5 and August 9-11 in the Florence-Busby-Corriher Theatre on the Catawba College campus.

Dionne is directing his former theatre arts professor, Dr. Kurt Corriher, who performs one of the three roles in the production.

The production addresses several questions about marriage, what it consists of, what it needs to survive, and what happens when it fails. The characters, Alice and Edward, are about to celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary when Edward reveals a horrible truth, which will greatly affect his marriage with Alice and his relationship with their son, Jamie.

This brilliantly written script will touch your heart and comes from the same director of last season's hit, Almost, Maine.
