The theme of the concert will be “An American Tapestry,” featuring songs, stories, and voices woven into the American experience.
Selections will include traditional choral works by Randall Thompson and Aaron Copland, along with a special tribute to Dolly Parton.
The 75-minute performance will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 W. Innes St. in Salisbury.
The concert will feature the Catawba Singers, soloists, and instrumentalists. St. John’s Chancel Choir will also join the singers to conclude the afternoon’s program.
The 68 voices of the Catawba Singers are under the direction of Dr. Phillip E. Burgess, dean of the Shuford School of Performing Arts at Catawba College. Susan Trivette, Catawba’s collaborative pianist, will accompany the ensemble.
The concert is free and open to the public.
