The performance will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church in historic downtown Salisbury while Catawba’s Omwake-Dearborn Chapel undergoes renovations. The performance brings together 63 student voices from the Catawba Singers, joined for several selections by the St. John’s Chancel Choir under the direction of Spence Robertson, Pastor of Music Ministries at St. John’s.
The program features a rich and varied selection of music, including arrangements of Spirituals and folk songs, along with time-tested and beloved choral works. The ensemble will be accompanied by piano, organ, brass, and additional instruments, with support from Catawba music faculty, staff, and students.
The Catawba Singers are directed by Dr. Phillip Burgess, dean of the Shuford School of Performing Arts, and accompanied by Susan Trivette, Catawba’s collaborative pianist.
St. John’s Lutheran Church is located at 200 West Innes Street in downtown Salisbury. The hour-long concert is free and open to the public.
