From Theory to Practice: Catawba College First-Year Seminar Students Learn Mural Art at Graffiti Park

Published:
All four of the Pursuit First-Year Seminar (FYS) groups took a class trip to the Graffiti Park in downtown Salisbury.

Students had the opportunity to watch a demonstration by mural artist Tawni Furr (aka Custom Street Rocks) who recreated the Catawba College mascot logo using spray paint.

Afterwards, students experimented with creating and spray painting their own designs. This field trip was a fun opportunity to practice their skills and prepare for their upcoming mural project on the course theme of “belonging in the age of solitude”.
