Join Catawba College For The Next Rowan County EV Interest Group Meeting

Catawba College’s Center for the Environment is proud to announce the next gathering of the Rowan County Electric Vehicle (EV) Interest Group, taking place Thursday, September 18, at 5:30 pm in the Center for the Environment building on campus.

This community-driven group brings together EV enthusiasts, industry experts, and local residents who are curious about the role electric vehicles play in shaping a cleaner, more connected future. Each session goes beyond conversation—giving participants a chance to see, experience, and learn about the rapidly evolving EV landscape.

At the most recent meeting, attendees took test rides in Catawba’s newest additions to its EV fleet: the Volkswagen ID. Buzz and the Ford F-150 Lightning. The event also featured lively discussions on EV safety, best charging practices, and the latest charging initiatives, all while spotlighting local partnerships such as the Salisbury Farmers’ Market, where the Ford Lightning is on display on Saturday mornings.

The EV Interest Group is open to anyone eager to learn more about the benefits of electric vehicles, sustainability in transportation, and how these innovations connect to Rowan County’s future. Whether you are a longtime EV owner or simply curious about what the shift to electric might mean for you, this group is designed to spark conversation, collaboration, and action.
