Lizzy Roy joined Catawba College as Director of Marketing and Communications in October 2026. She brings more than a decade of experience from Salisbury Academy, where she helped lead marketing and communications initiatives during a period of significant growth. Her work included supporting the addition of an upper school, a comprehensive rebrand and website redevelopment, enhanced storytelling across multiple channels, and expanded community partnerships throughout Salisbury and Rowan County.

Prior to joining Catawba, Roy developed a strong connection with the College through collaborative initiatives between Salisbury Academy and Catawba focused on environmental education and sustainability. In 2024, both institutions were recognized as U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools, the only two institutions in North Carolina to receive the distinction that year. Roy served as lead applicant for Salisbury Academy’s recognition, highlighting the school’s commitment to environmental stewardship, health and wellness, and sustainability education.

Roy holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature with a minor in communication from Denison University in Ohio and a Master of Business Administration from Lakeland University in Wisconsin.

Active in the Salisbury community, Roy serves on the board of Lee Street theatre, volunteers as a local Scouting America troop leader, and participates on the outreach committee at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Outside of her professional and community commitments, Roy enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, TJ, and their two daughters. Her appreciation for nature and community continues to influence both her personal interests and professional work.
