The Dean’s Advisory Board for the Ketner School of Business is composed of distinguished leaders from business, media, and technology who provide strategic insight and guidance to the Dean.  

Established in 2006, the Board meets twice a year to advise on program development, industry partnerships, and experiential learning opportunities, helping ensure that KSOB students are well prepared to lead in a rapidly changing global economy.  Dean’s Advisory Board Members also serve as ambassadors for the School, strengthening connections between Catawba College and the broader professional community.

Meet Our Members

Greg Alcorn Greg Alcorn ‘79
CEO, Global Contact Services (GCS)

Greg Alcorn ‘79 founded GCS in 2001. His vision was to create a direct marketing organization that would exceed client expectations while enriching the lives of associates and their communities. Today, Greg remains focused on building an organization that has, as its foundation, three strategic anchors:
  • Delivering the most professional presentations in the contact center industry
  • Providing an experienced, proactive client services team
  • Supporting an accurate and responsive information technology team
A visionary and consummate entrepreneur, Greg owned and operated several other high-performing businesses in the insurance and direct marketing industries prior to founding GCS. As the former President of one of the country’s largest teleservices companies, he was instrumental in establishing key client relationships that resulted in the growth of that organization from two to 2,000 associates over a 10-year period.

Imran Chowdhury
Dean, Ketner School of Business, Catawba College

Imran Chowdhury, Ph.D., is Dean and Saleeby Professor of Business Administration at the Ketner School of Business at Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina.  Dr. Chowdhury previously held the Diana Davis Spencer Chair in Social Entrepreneurship at Wheaton College in Massachusetts and served as a tenured Associate Professor at Pace University’s Lubin School of Business in New York City.  He has held international visiting positions at Freie Universität Berlin (Germany); Montpellier Business School (France); CEFAM Business School (France); and ESSEC Asia-Pacific (Singapore). 

Chowdhury’s teaching encompasses courses in entrepreneurship, strategic management, and international management across undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, online, global, and executive programs. His writing examines the development of ecosystems for entrepreneurs with a social impact focus, and how companies work to balance economic and social demands simultaneously.  He also has a strong interest in management education, particularly as it relates to issues of sustainability and social entrepreneurship.  Dr. Chowdhury’s research has been published in leading outlets including Academy of Management Learning & Education, Advances in Strategic Management, Agriculture and Human Values, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences, Journal of Social Entrepreneurship, Organization Studies, Research in the Sociology of Organizations, and Social Networks, and has been recognized with invited keynotes both internationally and within the United States.  Along with his colleagues Jordi Vives Gabriel, Wim van Lent, and Hugo van der Merwe, Dr. Chowdhury received the 2023 JBE Best Business Ethics Paper award at the Academy of Management (AOM) annual meetings. 

Chowdhury’s engagement with the business and academic communities builds on both his academic expertise and his early career working at a leading entrepreneurial biotechnology company in New York and in Uganda.  He is a member of the Minority Business Council of the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce and the Strategic Advisory Board for the Mansfield Bio-Incubator, and has been invited to share his expertise at the national level on entrepreneurship- and economic development-related issues.  Dr. Chowdhury was elected as Program Evaluation Coordinator (2023-2026) for the AOM’s Management Education Division and has co-organized the “Social Sciences for the Real World” track at the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics annual meetings since 2019.  His editorial work includes service on the Editorial Board of Academy of Management Learning & Education.

After graduating from Stuyvesant High School, Dr. Chowdhury earned his undergraduate degree in anthropology and geography from Hunter College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and the recipient of an Athena Scholarship.  He completed graduate studies in France, obtaining a master’s degree at L’Institut européen d’administration des affaires (INSEAD), and a Ph.D. from L’École supérieure des sciences économiques et commerciales (ESSEC Business School).

Patrick Costello Patrick Costello
Senior Vice President, Mercury Public Affairs, Bipartisan Government Relations

Patrick C. Costello is a Managing Director at Mercury based in Washington, DC. He joined Mercury Public Affairs in the fall of 2022 as part of Mercury’s bipartisan government relations practice and lead of the think tank/NGO engagement practice. Costello is a recognized expert in U.S. foreign policy, trade policy, business diplomacy and the domestic politics of American foreign policy. Costello also regularly consults with the policymaking community and stakeholders on a wide range of foreign policy and economic issues, he is frequently sought out by individuals, institutions and companies to advise them on how to maximize their influence and impact in Washington and writes a monthly column for the international business community in Italy.

Costello previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of the American Security Project (ASP), a non-partisan national security think tank in Washington, DC, where he provided day-to-day management of organizational strategy, internal policy formation, and stakeholder engagement and served as the public face of ASP to outside constituencies. Prior to joining ASP, Costello spent over a decade at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in Washington where he held a number of senior roles and directed CFR’s interactions with Washington policymakers and the diplomatic community, most recently as director of Washington External Affairs.

Upon coming to Washington, Costello worked in Congress for former Representative Jon Porter (R-NV) fulfilling a variety of policy and communications roles. After leaving Capitol Hill, Costello was a government relations counsellor with International Business-Government Counsellors where he directed congressional relations and provided strategic advice and direct representation assisting businesses in international government relations activities affecting their global operations. Costello also served as a senior associate at The Whitaker Group, a consultancy and project development firm specializing in Africa.

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Costello earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts, a post-graduate certificate from Exeter College, University of Oxford, a master’s degree from King’s College London, and has done graduate study at the National Defense University and the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. He was a 2011 Future Leader with the Foreign Policy Initiative, named an Atlantik-Brücke Young Leader in 2014, a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations from 2015 to 2020 and was elected as a life member of CFR in 2022.
Steve Harkins ‘77 Steve Harkins ‘77
Retired CEO, Spero Financial, Finance, Banking

Steve Harkins, ’77 is a retired financial services executive with over four decades of leadership experience in the credit union industry. He served as President and CEO of Spero Financial (formerly SC Telco Federal Credit Union) in Greenville, South Carolina, for 27 years, overseeing its growth into a community-based institution with ten locations across four cities. Prior to that, he was Vice President/City Executive with SECU in North Carolina.

Under his leadership, Spero Financial earned multiple accolades, including being named a two-time Forbes Best-In-State Credit Union and a South Carolina Best Places to Work honoree for mid-size employers. In 2017, Steve was recognized as one of Greenville’s Top 20 Most Influential Business People, and he received the Lifetime Achievement Award for credit union executives in the Carolinas.

Steve is the founder and past chairman of Innovative Business Solutions, a national leader in commercial lending services for credit unions and served over a decade on the board of First Carolina Corporate Credit Union, guiding it through the Great Recession. He also held board positions with the Carolinas Credit Union League and the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.

Beyond the financial sector, Steve is a Distinguished Past President of the Downtown Greenville Kiwanis Club and has served on several community boards. He continues his commitment to education and service as a member of the Catawba College Board of Visitors and the Chiefs Club Board.

Josh Hill ’16 is a Manager in Deloitte’s National Office Accounting & Reporting Services Group, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Within Deloitte’s National Office, Josh serves on the Revenue, SEC Services, and Financial Statement Presentation teams.

This summer, Josh will transition to a role as a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Audit & Assurance practice, where he will serve as the lead manager on several public audit engagements within the Life Sciences and Technology industries.

Josh is a CPA and earned his Master’s in Accounting from NC State University. He holds a B.A. in Accounting and Economics from Catawba College (Class of 2016).

Emily Johnson ‘13 is a Senior Lead Control Management Officer in the Chief Operating Office (COO) Control group. She is based in Charlotte, NC and joined Wells Fargo in 2012. She began her career as a Diverse Segments Intern for the Consumer Lending Group. After completing her degree, Emily accepted full-time employment with WF as a Collateral Underwriter. Her interest in risk mitigation led Emily to pursue a position within Wells Fargo Audit.

Emily has since held various roles across the enterprise and is thankful for the opportunity to own her journey. She is now responsible for holistic management of risks, controls, and issues for the Information Management Office. Emily is passionate about strategic risk management, employee engagement, workplace culture, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).

Emily is a 2013 graduate of Catawba College, holding a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics.

Emily is an active leadership team member for Enterprise Generation Connection Employee Resource Network and is a member of the Advisory Council at Charlotte nonprofit, Beds for Kids. Emily grew up in the North Carolina foothills and currently resides in the NoDa neighborhood in Charlotte with her dog and enjoys a variety of community engagement activities.

George Johnson ‘77 George Johnson ‘77
President, Carolina Aircraft, Inc.

George Johnson, a 1977 Catawba College graduate and MBA recipient from UNC Greensboro, is the longtime president of Carolina Aircraft, Inc., widely known in aviation circles as "The Bonanza Man." With a career spanning nearly five decades, George has become a global authority on Beechcraft Bonanzas and Barons.

Beginning his career at Air Service, a Beechcraft dealership, George quickly rose to prominence, earning national accolades including Salesman of the Year for Beechcraft in 1984, 1986, and 1987. He received numerous prestigious awards such as the Olive Ann Beech Award, Beechcraft Executive Salesman Award, and was recognized as a Blue-Chip Salesman for 10 consecutive years.

In 1991, George founded Carolina Aircraft, Inc. to focus on premium pre-owned Beechcraft models. He later co-founded Carolina Corporate Jets, Inc. to manage turbine and jet aircraft sales, allowing him to specialize in his true passion—Bonanzas and Barons. George also holds a World and U.S. Speed Record, set in a Beechcraft Baron 58 in 1985.

In addition to leading Carolina Aircraft, George is Vice President of Carolina Corporate Jets, President of NexGA Aircraft, Inc., and a partner in Triad Aviation Academy. He has served as an adjunct professor at Catawba College and sits on both the Catawba College Business Advisory Board and Guilford Technical Institute’s Aviation Advisory Board.

Dr. Dameous Little is an experienced educator and former corporate executive with over 15 years in leadership roles across various sectors, including compliance, logistics, operations, and management. He holds a Doctorate in Business Management from Pace University, along with an MBA and a Bachelor's in Sociology from Saint Leo University.

Dr. Little brings real-world expertise into the classroom, specializing in business law, entrepreneurship, process improvement, and supply chain management. His teaching philosophy emphasizes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and ethical leadership, preparing students to thrive in today’s dynamic business environment. With a passion for student success and community engagement, Dr. Little is dedicated to developing the next generation of business leaders.
Charles Muse '68 Charles Muse '68

Dr. Charles Muse ‘68 has served as the BDE Commander for the past three years, having previously served as the 3rd BDE Commander. This year marks his sixth year as a BDE Commander in the Guard. He served 31 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring at the rank of Colonel, 17 years assisting the U.S. Naval Academy in the Blue and Gold Recruiting program, and six years in the S.C. State Guard - a total of 52 years in uniform.

Muse's decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, two Commendation Medals, four Individual Achievement Medals, and numerous other Service Medals. He has served Catawba College in various capacities, which include President of the Alumni Association, Chairman of the School of Business Advisory Committee, Chairman of the Board of Visitors, and numerous academic and other committees. He has taught graduate and undergraduate business, management, and leadership courses since 1973 and currently teaches online graduate and undergraduate online courses for U. Mass. Muse retired form Florence-Darlington Technical College after 25 years as the Vice President of Academic Affairs and retired as the Executive Director of the National Robotics Training Center, where he served the Office of the Secretary of Defense in their Ground Robotics Program.

Muse has been married for 45 years to his wife Susan (formerly Susan Maria Hutchins), a former Miss Jacksonville (NC) and retired college faculty member who also served in the U.S. Army Reserve for six years. They have three adult sons: Thomas, serving in a top-secret field in the U.S. Army; Alex, an Army CID Agent who works for Homeland Security; and Matthew, currently serving in the USMC at Camp LeJeune, NC. Military life is a tradition in the Muse family, dating back the Battle of Cow Pens during the Revolutionary War. He and his wife reside in Florence, SC.

Dr. Christine M. Lynn is an accomplished higher education leader with more than 17 years of experience in academic operations, strategic planning, and enrollment innovation. As Associate Dean of the Ketner School of Business, she leads academic operations, strategic initiatives, and community partnerships while advancing program quality and student success. She led the development of a new strategic plan for the college that strengthened alignment with institutional priorities, enhanced operational efficiency, and improved measurable outcomes across key academic and enrollment areas. Dr. Lynn has also launched the Tom Smith Fellows program to elevate signature student experiences, strengthened enrollment and retention strategies, and expanded workforce-aligned credentials through national partnerships. Before joining Catawba, she held senior roles at Walsh University and Stark State College, overseeing multimillion-dollar revenue portfolios, scaling digital campuses, and leading institution-wide strategic planning and academic innovation.

Deeply committed to community and economic development, Dr. Lynn serves on the Board of Directors for the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, the Rowan County Public Health Community Health Needs Assessment Steering Committee, and multiple regional and national advisory boards. She is a frequent presenter on academic innovation, change management, and workforce development, and her contributions have supported statewide initiatives and projects backed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Lynn has been recognized with numerous awards—including the Catawba College President’s Award for Community Service and the Rowan Chamber Volunteer of the Year—and holds a Doctor of Education from Capella University and an MBA from Walsh University. She is known for her collaborative leadership, strategic clarity, and commitment to preparing students for meaningful, service-centered careers in business.

Osman Qasim Osman Qasim
President, Team Carolinas (Domino’s)

Osman Qasim is the President of Team Carolinas, a franchise group operating 72 Domino’s locations across North and South Carolina. With over 36 years of experience in franchising, operations, and team development, he is recognized for his leadership and innovation within Domino’s system. He earned his MBA from Wake Forest University, specializing in strategic management and organizational leadership.

A long-time Rowan County resident, Osman also serves on Domino’s National Marketing Advisory Council and the Board of Directors for the Domino’s Franchisee Association, where he advocates for franchisee interests. Outside of business, he enjoys off-road desert racing and aviation. Osman is honored to serve on the Catawba College Dean’s Advisory Board and is committed to supporting its mission.
Archana Shah Archana Shah

Archana Shah is a Portfolio Manager for Redwheel’s Sustainable Emerging Markets strategy and leads sustainability efforts for the Emerging and Frontier Markets Team. With 20 years of experience in the financial industry, her background spans roles at J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and a decade in the impact sector across nonprofits, academia, and social enterprises.

She co-founded Impact Hub New York Metropolitan Area and serves on advisory boards for Ladderworks and the Ketner School of Business at Catawba College. Archana holds a BSc in Finance from the Wharton School and an MA in Economic Development from NYU. She lives in New York City with her husband.

Richard J. Seiwell, Jr. '67, a member of the Catawba Board of Trustees since 1986, chairs the Board's finance committee, has chaired its endowment committee, and is a member of its investment sub-committee. He was honored by the College with its Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1999 and inducted into its Ketner School of Business Hall of Fame in 2010.

Seiwell served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1968 until 1974. In 1977, he became a chartered financial analyst and worked as a former partner and director of research for Cashman, Farrell & Associates, Inc.

Seiwell serves as director and chair of the investment committee of New Covenant Trust Company and as an adjunct trustee of the Presbyterian Foundation. Married to wife Linda, the two are parents of two adult children and make their home in West Chester, Pa.

A native of Pennsylvania and the son of Catawba alumni, the late Reverend Porter Seiwell (a longtime Catawba College chaplain) and wife Maria, Seiwell graduated from Catawba College with a degree in business. He earned his M.B.A. from Ohio State University in 1968.

Kyle Snyder ‘96 is the UAS Business Development Director for Kongsberg Geospatial and owner of Flyabout Strategies, LLC. For more than 25 years, he has served in a variety of roles focusing on the advancement of drones and data-centric aviation transportation management. Kyle embraces sitting at the intersection of technology development, new market creation, operational integration, regulatory alignment, and social acceptance of new capabilities. He supports the responsible use of autonomous systems for transportation and operations in our daily lives by encouraging the adoption of digital infrastructure for communications, situational awareness, and information analytics.

Kyle has his BA in Math and Computer Science from Catawba College (1996) and two master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee (Math MS 1998, Aerospace MBA 2005).
Mona Lisa Wallace Mona Lisa Wallace
Partner, Wallace & Graham

Mona Lisa Wallace is a partner at Wallace & Graham, with over four decades of experience in civil litigation. She is nationally recognized for her work in personal injury, workers’ compensation, consumer protection, toxic torts, and class action law. A National Merit Scholar, she earned her B.A. with honors from UNC-Chapel Hill and her J.D. with honors from Wake Forest University School of Law.

Ms. Wallace is licensed to practice in multiple states and federal courts and has dedicated much of her career to advancing consumer rights. She serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of Public Justice, the nation’s largest public interest law firm, where she advocates for ethical class action practices and social justice.

Her professional and civic service includes leadership roles with the North Carolina State Bar, the NC Academy of Trial Lawyers, and appointments to boards at Wake Forest Law, Catawba College, and Hood Theological Seminary. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and was honored with the NC ATLA’s prestigious Ebbie Award. Mona Lisa Wallace continues to be an influential legal voice and committed advocate for justice.
