Love beer? Learn the science behind it and insights from New Sarum Brewery's Brewmaster Any Maben!

🍺🧪 Join us on February 8th from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Catawba College's Shuford Science Building for an exclusive "Brew Your Own Beer Lab" event. This unique gathering is a must-attend for craft beer enthusiasts and aspiring brewers!

During this event, you'll have the chance to explore Catawba College's recently renovated, state-of-the-art lab space in the Shuford Science Building.

Our distinguished speakers, Dean of Natural Sciences Dr. Jay Bolin and nutritionist faculty Dr. Suzanne Bowser, will provide an insightful overview of the cutting-edge facilities and discuss the innovative curriculum being taught to students.

The evening's spotlight is on Andy Maben, a proud Catawba College alumnus and the mastermind brewmaster at New Sarum Brewery.

Andy's brewing journey began in the halls of Catawba, where he first started experimenting with brewing beer in his dorm room. This early passion led to the founding of New Sarum Brewery in early 2012, which initially operated as a successful nano-brewery. After a significant expansion in 2015, New Sarum opened its state-of-the-art production facility in April 2016, now featuring a tasting room and offering brewery tours, a testament to the brewery's growth and success under Andy's leadership.

Andy will share his inspiring journey from a curious college student to a professional brewmaster, focusing on New Sarum Brewery's specialty, the Catawba Lager. His story is a remarkable example of how a student's passion can evolve into a successful career, and it highlights the entrepreneurial spirit that Catawba College encourages in its students.

Engage with experts, explore the depths of brewing science, and be inspired by a tale of ambition and craftsmanship.
