2022 marks the 19th Annual Duck Draw Community Service Project in collaboration with Communities in Schools! Over the past 18 years, we have been able to provide over 2,100 families with Thanksgiving meals with your support. This year our goal is to feed 100 families.
For $1 you can help sponsor a duck. And of course, you can sponsor more than 1 duck. Housing and Residence Life Staff will visit offices, residence halls, and other popular spots on campus to start reaching out for sponsors.
For the Duck Draw, we place rubber ducks in the fountain on Stanback Plaza. President Nelson will randomly pick ducks out of the fountain. Each duck drawn represents a donation. If we draw your duck you win a prize! Prizes donated for this event are from local businesses, and for that, we are grateful.
ALL donations will go towards Thanksgiving meals for families in Rowan County. These meals consisted of a 10-12-pound turkey, baking pan, rice, cranberry sauce, green beans, corn, stuffing mix, and a box of brownie mix. Communities in Schools identify families who may need a little extra help during the holiday season and distribute those meals to local families.
