Position Summary
The Academic Clinical & Lab Instructor provides direct supervision and instruction to undergraduate nursing students in clinical practice settings, simulation environments, and skills laboratories. The instructor supports competency development, clinical judgment, professional role formation, and preparation for NCLEX-RN success.
This position typically conducts three days per week of clinical, additional laboratory instruction days, and participates in program service, student evaluation, and faculty development activities.
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Instruction
- Supervise students in assigned clinical agencies
- Facilitate clinical reasoning, prioritization, and safe patient care
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Ensure compliance with agency and program requirements
- Communicate student progress to course faculty
Laboratory & Simulation Instruction
- Teach nursing skills and procedures using competency-based approaches
- Facilitate simulation scenarios including pre-briefing and debriefing
- Support development of clinical judgment aligned with NCLEX Next Generation expectations

Student Evaluation
- Assess student competencies using standardized evaluation tools

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) or related field preferred
- Current unencumbered RN license eligible for practice in the state
- Minimum 2–3 years clinical nursing experience

- Clinical teaching, precepting, or simulation experience

Founded in 1851 in Newton, North Carolina, Catawba was started by German pioneers who had traveled from eastern Pennsylvania to settle in the valleys of the Haw, Yadkin, and Catawba Rivers. Catawba College (“Catawba”) seeks applicants for its Area Coordinator for Housing and Residence Life position. The Area Coordinator is pivotal in fostering a vibrant and supportive residential community at Catawba College. This live-in position oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned residential areas, providing leadership in student development, crisis management, and community building. The coordinator supervises a team of Resident Assistants (RAs) and collaborates closely with campus partners to enhance the overall student experience within the residential community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Directly supervise and facilitate Catawba Resident Assistant's recruitment, training, and
- Consistent with the Catawba Mission and Student Affairs priorities, create and implement a team development plan that includes, but is not limited to, individual meetings, weekly staff meetings, and team bonding activities.
- Supervise, train, and mentor Resident Assistants (RAs) to ensure adequate support and programming within assigned residential areas.
- Develop and implement community-building initiatives and residence hall programs that promote student engagement, inclusivity, and personal growth.
- Serve as a conduct officer, adjudicating student conduct cases and maintaining accurate documentation by college policies.
- Coordinate residence hall openings and closings, including room inspections, key distribution, and related administrative tasks.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies and serve in an on-call rotation to support students and enforce policies.
- Collaborate with Facilities Management for maintenance and custodial needs within residential facilities.
- Assist with selecting, training, and evaluating RAs and other residence life staff

About the Position
The Director of Broadcasting plays a vital role in shaping the visual identity and digital presence of Catawba College Athletics. This position provides leadership and oversight for all live-streaming operations and video production efforts ensuring high-quality, engaging, and brand-consistent content across all platforms. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and a strategic mindset to elevate the Catawba Athletics brand while creating meaningful experiential opportunities for student staff. Evening and weekend work is required. This position will directly report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services.
Primary Responsibilities
Broadcast Operations & Leadership (50%)
- Provide strategic leadership and daily oversight for all live-streaming operations for Catawba Athletics, ensuring consistent, high-quality productions across conference and institutional platforms (e.g., FloSports).
- Direct and execute live game broadcasts, including multi-camera productions, replay, graphics, and audio.
- Develop and maintain production workflows, run-of-show documents, and operational standards to ensure seamless execution of all broadcasts.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student workers, interns, and freelance staff, including camera operators, replay technicians, graphics operators, and on-air talent.
- Mentor and develop student broadcasters, enhancing play-by-play and color commentary quality.
- Collaborate with campus IT and external vendors to maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade broadcast equipment and infrastructure.
- Lead research, planning, and implementation of new technologies and equipment to enhance production capabilities.
External Relations & Brand Support (20%)
- Collaborate with creative services, marketing, and corporate sponsorship teams to integrate branding and sponsorship elements into broadcasts and in-venue productions.
- Assist in developing and executing revenue-generating opportunities through broadcast-related sponsorships, including in-stream graphics, video board advertising, and branded content.
- Ensure all video and broadcast content aligns with Catawba Athletics brand standards and institutional messaging.
- Support departmental initiatives that enhance fan engagement, game day experience, and overall brand visibility.
Video Content Production (20%)
- Assist as needed in video content across all athletic programs, including hype videos, highlights, feature stories, and recruiting content.
- Film, edit, and produce high-quality video content using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Capture compelling content in collaboration with coaches, student-athletes, and staff to support storytelling, recruiting, and fan engagement efforts.
- Assist in the development and distribution of content across social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook.
- Maintain an organized digital archive of video assets and project files.
Student Workforce Development (10%)
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and daily oversight for student employees involved in broadcasting, video production, and content creation.
- Create a structured training program that promotes skill development, professionalism, and career readiness.
- Manage scheduling, evaluations, and continued development of student staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Sports Media, Communications, or a related field; or
- Equivalent professional experience (minimum of 3–5 years) in live sports production, broadcasting, or video production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in collegiate athletics, preferably at the NCAA level.
- Familiarity with live streaming platforms (e.g., BlueFrame, ESPN+, Hudl TV).
- Experience with broadcast production equipment (e.g., switchers, replay systems, audio boards, graphics systems).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition).
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Passion for mentoring students and building a hands-on learning environment.

JOB OVERVIEW:
Catawba College (“Catawba”) seeks a Registered Nurse (preferred) to effectively oversee the daily operations of the Proctor Health Center. The Health Center Manager will participate in all aspects of the operation of the Proctor Student Health Center including providing health care and health education to the Catawba College community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations Management & Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day health center operations, including coordinating with provider schedules to ensure adequate coverage is present in the Health Center. To include but not limited to the following duties:
- Provides primary medical care to the student community and responds to the basic health needs of students.
- Prepares for and responds to on campus medical crisis or emergencies; provides health and wellness advising.
- Interacts with health care agencies and professionals as necessary; maintains resources of area health care providers and other medical resources and emergency services information.
- Coordinates the College’s blood drives and health fairs, and health and wellness programs/events as directed.
- Ensure efficient use of resources, facilities, and medical equipment/supplies
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve service quality within the Health Services Center and greater Student Affairs Division.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, etc.)
- Coordinates the College’s Immunization process in collaboration with the Registrar’s office.
- Ensure all students have met the requirements of admission to the College regarding the submission of all health certification and immunization forms mandated by North Carolina Law.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality of protected health information in accordance with HIPPA.
- Monitor safety protocols and infection control procedures within the Student Health Center.
Budgeting & Financial Oversight
- Implement and manage the Student Health Center budget.
- Monitor expenditures and billing processes for incoming expenses and contracts.
Student Health & Wellness Programs
- Coordinate health education initiatives including health education outreach, vaccination drives, and other wellness campaigns

Collaboration & Communication

Education:

Job Title: Intramural Graduate Assistant

Catawba College Campus Recreation Overview
Campus Recreation at Catawba College supports the health and well-being of students, faculty, and staff through inclusive, evidence-based programs and services. Recognizing that wellness is a lifelong journey, the Center offers resources focused on physical, mental, and emotional health. Position Overview
This position will serve in an administrative role with the Intramural Sport Programs area within Campus Recreation. Applicants must be accepted into a graduate program at Catawba College in order to be selected. Students who apply for the position should have significant prior experience with sports officiating and/or sports programming in an accredited collegiate intramural sports program. This position is 11 months/25 hours per week, renewable on a yearly basis and is dependent on the maintenance of satisfactory academic standing, as well as acceptable performance reviews from the Coordinator of Health, Wellness, and Recreation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Program Administration
- Assist in the development and scheduling of seasonal intramural sports leagues, tournaments, and special events
- Maintain and update team registration, schedules, and results using the intramural management software (e.g. IMLeauges)
- Develop and maintain sport specific rules and regulations in accordance with the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) as well as Catawba College
- Assist in marketing and outreach strategies to increase program visibility and participation.
- Staff Supervision &Training
- i. Lead recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of intramural officials and intramural program assistant
- Lead weekly staff meetings with Intramural Program Assistant
- Help facilitate monthly staff development meetings for Campus Recreation Staff
- Provide on-site supervision of intramural events to ensure quality service and enforcement of rules
- Serve as a mentor and role model for student employees
- Risk Management & Safety
- Ensure that all intramural activities follow established safety protocols and risk management procedures
- Respond to all injuries, conflicts, or emergencies in a calm and professional manner, completing all the necessary incident reports
- Assist with the inspection of facilities and equipment for safety and compliance
- Participant Relations & Customer Service
- Serve as a point of contact for participant concerns, rule interpretations, and conflict resolution
