Orientation at Catawba College
information for students & parents
Stay tuned as we update this page with more information for the Class of 2016!
Orientation at Catawba consists of five days of unforgettable events, activities and fun all designed to help you get settled, establish an immediate group of peers, and provide opportunities to help you to register for your first college classes. You will have numerous opportunities to meet students, faculty, and staff who are eager to welcome and assist you with your transition to college.
You will be supported throughout the Orientation process by the Catawba Alphas. These students embody the spirit of service at Catawba, as they volunteer their time and energy to assist you throughout this important and memorable time. Their willingness to serve should tell you a little something about how special the Orientation process is at Catawba College.

- Review and print the orientation schedule. Bring this schedule with you to campus in August.
-
Review and optionally print the Quick Guide to Catawba Technology. Particularly note the information on how to login to CatLink (the Catawba web-based information portal for the campus community) and how to access the Catawba email system, as you will need this information to perform the next three steps.
- If you have not already done so, login to CatLink to change your initially assigned password to something more secure, per the instructions in the Quick Guide to Catawba Technology.
- While logged into CatLink, visit the Student Affairs function under the My Info tab to view your housing status (boarding or commuting). If you are living on-campus, you will also see your room assignment, roommate information, and campus mailbox information.
- Begin reading your Catawba email per the instructions in the Quick Guide to Catawba Technology. Use the Catawba email system and its campus address book to easily contact faculty, staff, and other students. Email is used by the entire campus community to communicate with you. Both official notifications that you must know, as well as event and other information you may want to know, are communicated via email. Stay in touch by checking your Catawba email, as well as the Catawba website, often.
