Alphas Alpha Program

Alphas are a select group of students who work with both First-Year Seminar faculty and new students during the Orientation process. Alphas help students on move-in day. They also attend all advising meetings throughout orientation assisting the FYS instructors. When they are not in advising sessions, they help with registration, placement testing, running evening programs, distributing materials, and ushering groups to all the orientation activities.

Alpha candidates must have a 2.5 GPA, a genuine appreciation for the Catawba community and programs, and must be available throughout orientation. Former, well-performing Alphas are encouraged to return and any students, especially rising sophomores, are encouraged to apply.
