First-Year Student Testimonials
(Nicole Durant continued)
"In my First-Year Seminar, I met 17 amazing people from all different backgrounds who all remain my friends to this day. I felt so comfortable when I first got here that I didn't even cry (and I am one to get very homesick). We all were thrown into this crazy first-year college experience that everyone has to go through, but the difference is that we all had each other to turn to. We were around each other all of the time.
At first, because we had to have FYS and Rhetoric and Composition I together, any free time that we had we would spend together. We all went to lunch together, we hung out on the weekends together, and we even did our homework together. Now, this was not because we had to. We were just lucky enough to have such great people in our residence hall and I am so thankful for that.

I will also never forget my advisor Dean Hetrick. In fact, I am so sad that I had to declare my major because I do not want to leave her. She is possibly one of the sweetest and most intelligent women that I know. She is so dedicated to her work and it shows. Her classes are tough, but you will most definitely learn something. She, along with all of the other wonderful faculty and staff have provided me with the knowledge to succeed."
