The Catawba College First-Year Experience is an integrated set of programs that introduces students to the interconnectedness of liberal and professional education and increases their engagement with the social and intellectual life of the campus community. Through the development of critical thinking, reading, and writing capabilities, students begin their preparation to succeed in professional careers, to make meaningful contributions to the communities in which they live, and to continue to learn throughout their lives.
