    BitzerCatawba College professor of politics and political expert Dr. J. Michael Bitzer was featured in a recent article on the CharlotteObserver.com website. The topic was the recent political equivalent of a civil war centered around the the 8th Congressional District race.

    "The big question coming out of the Republican contest is whether the losing side will be able to kiss and make up with the winning side after such a nasty runoff," said Bitzer, who has closely tracked the race. "Larry Kissell is a Democrat who has to have every planet in the right alignment to win re-election."
