Two Catawba College Theatre Arts students will showcase their talents in a theatrical dance performance entitled, "Dreamland." Two performances will be offered at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1 and at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 5 in the Florence Busby Corriher Theatre on campus and are free and open to the public.

Two seniors, Michael Lasris of Seaford, Va., and Brianna Smith of Austin, Texas, collaborated on the joint practicum which they term "the Alice Project." Lasris provided his skill in long-form choreography and Smith hers in artistic direction and production management to create the final performance, "Dreamland." Although there are some darker images and sounds, there is no violence, inappropriate language or sexual content, and "Dreamland" is suitable for adults and children over 10 years of age.

"Dreamland," which runs one and a half hours, combines the musical stylings of Tom Waits and uses the soundtrack from the Disney film, "Alice in Wonderland." Performers include student volunteers from a variety of different academic majors.
