Members of the Rowan-Salisbury community are invited to join faculty, staff and students at Catawba College for Reflections:  9-11 Five Years Later at 7:30 p.m. Monday, September 11 in Keppel Auditorium on campus. Faculty members from several different disciplines will offer insights and perspectives and encourage audience discussion about world changes in the five years since 9-11.

"This is an important opportunity for our entire community to reflect upon the tremendous changes — to our political, social, economic, and cultural institutions — brought about just within five short years," said Dr. Michael Bitzer, assistant professor and chair of the department of history and politics, who will serve as moderator for the Sept. 11 discussion. "It is critical for all of us to contemplate and consider where we are and where we may be going in this new era."  

Faculty members participating include Dr. Philip Acree Cavalier, assistant dean of the college and associate professor of English; Dr. Sanford Silverburg, professor of political science and an expert in Middle East politics; and Dr. Barbara Hetrick, vice president and dean of the college and a professor of sociology. 

The event is free and open to the public.
