Members of the Catawba College community can assist with the Hurricane Katrina Relief  Effort simply by making a donation of $10 or more and receiving a specially designed t-shirt.  The College residence life staff and bookstore have collaborated in this effort and t-shirts are available in the bookstore and will be available at the football game between Catawba and Livingstone on Saturday, Sept. 3.

Members of both the college community and the community at large can also bring donated items to this football game and the local chapter of the American Red Cross will insure delivery of these items to affected areas.  Items needed include bottled water, batteries, flashlights, diapers, baby formula, canned food, manual can openers, plastic utensils.  Faculty, staff and students in the Ketner School of Business will man the drop off location on Saturday.

College officials are contemplating a relief effort trip to devastated areas in Mississippi over fall break. They are currently gauging interest in this trip and making preliminary contacts concerning it.
