Dr. Albert E. Roberts, chair and professor of psychology at Catawba College, recently attended the ninth meeting of the European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics in Wetzlar, Germany. Professionals from over 45 different countries attended.

Attendees learned of the newest innovations and applications of neuroimaging techniques, particularly transcranial Doppler, in the assessment and treatment of cerebral vascular disease.

Roberts uses the transcranial Doppler instrument in his research work to determine how the speed of blood changes when people think or do various tasks. He joined the Catawba faculty in 1970 after earning his doctorate from the University of Tennessee.
