Headin' back to the 804!

Well folks, it's finally here ... what we've all been waiting for ... FALL BREAK!! Whether you're going home or staying with a friend nearby, the fact remains that we have a few days off school!
Don't get me wrong, I am LOVING school but everybody needs a break after working so hard on midterms, papers, REHEARSALS (shout out to my equally exhausted theatre people) and all other assignments under the sun!
"So Leanna what will you be doing on your fall break?"
Well I'll tell you Catawba peeps, thanks for asking. Friday I will be spending time with one of my best friends here at school, Hannah Lee, at her home in Raleigh where I will then precede to the nearby train station bright and early Saturday morning to head back to my hometown in Virginia! Coming to school I was pretty excited to live somewhere brand new, but I really have missed good, old Richmond and everyone there!
I know what you're thinking, "I can't believe she hasn't brought up how excited she is to see her family yet?" Well, I was going to get there. I am sooooo excited to see my family this weekend! Along with visiting people I haven't seen for about two and a half months, I get to ride a train for the first time ... do not judge me, I'm really excited about that part. I have heard nothing but good things about this train station, I know you guys are worried about my safety but I'll be okay. This weekend, I have so much planned. Sunday, my hometown is having their annual Artsies show, which is an award show for all the theatre productions around town and my mother happens to have a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her incredible performance in a show called Always Patsy Cline. I get to go find a gorgeous dress and shoes to wear to this event and be around my theatre friends ... I'm just saying, what could be any better than that?
You may be wondering, "Why should I care about an award show, you getting to dress up or your mom getting nominated for her performance in a show?" Being a theatre student here at Catawba, I try and find different theatre experiences I encounter to put in each blog post and this is one I am particularly proud of since this is the first nomination my mother has ever gotten ... I also get to dress all fancy and feel gorgeous so there! Along with this amazing outing I get to partake in, I will hopefully get to see some of my friends around town and tell them all about my adventures that I have experienced these few months at school with some of you lovely people!
Now, you tell me, wouldn't you be excited to hear all about my life? Okay for those people I haven't met yet, you may not be all eager to hear about my life but you get what I'm trying to say. All of you who are going home enjoy your time, do not just sit on the couch watching TV, playing video games or spend your day on Facebook and Twitter to see what your friends are doing at that moment. Spend time with your family members who have been obsessing over old home videos, looking at baby pictures and counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds for your safe return back home for only a few days. I just got a phone call from my mother saying that they were going to clean the house for my return, so they're getting ready and so am I! I'll plop myself on that train while reading my kindle and embrace the beauty that is Richmond, VA along with whatever other surprises I may encounter during my time at home, but don't worry I'll keep you posted!
