- What was your favorite experience on this trip?
“The most meaningful experience of this trip was the night in Paris, France. After running 4.5 miles from the hotel, we arrived at the Eiffel Tower at exactly midnight as the tower started shimmering. The sight of that magnificent piece of architecture was life-changing, and it set up the trip from there on to be the most incredible last few days with my best friends before I leave and we go our separate ways.”
- How has your perspective changed on this trip?
“On this trip, I assumed we’d run into vast amounts of people who hated Americans, but after asking person after person about foreign views of America, they had nothing but the best things to say about us. It made me realize not just that Americans are ignorant, but that there is a whole lot less hatred in the world than I had previously thought.”
- What have you learned through your experiences?
“Until you experience the other countries first-hand, you have no clue how different everything is. From the food choices at different meals, to the fact that the French rarely have toilet seats, you learn something new about other people everyday.”
