Blog: Catawba Singers Take on Europe

Senior Riker Gold of Concord
  1. What was your favorite experience on this trip?
“Watching the Eiffel Tower light up and sparkle at 1 a.m. was the most meaningful experience for me on this trip.”

  2. How has your perspective changed on this trip?
“My perspective has changed on the French in that they eat several nasty dishes (tartar).  I also found that people in Europe are nicer to Americans than I thought they would be.”

  3. What have you learned through your experiences?
“I learned that you can’t get the same great taste of food and drinks at home as you can in their home country.  I learned that Europe is much more beautiful than described, especially the Alps.  I learned that the soldiers patrolling Paris can be intimidating  and that the Paris Metro is very clean compared to ours.”
