The Open House for Prospective Students

WELCOME TO CATAWBA!
Prospective students entered the Peeler Crystal Lounge looking for information about Catawba College. Among the students who visited for Open House were more than 20 students who were Regional Finalists in the prestigious North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program.
I had the privlege of discussing the amazing curriculum as well as the development of personal relationships with professors, advisors, and coaches as West Scholars entertained questions from the students.
Mrs. Jo Ann Norris, the administrator of the Teaching Fellows program, was tough when it came to policies, but she definitely brought to life with her words what was expected by the program and what college life was really like.
When it was our turn to describe what Catawba was about,
the West Scholars explained about campus life and how the small classes and other college resources were helpful.
The day was an an exciting one for those of us in teacher education and we hope was fun and informative for the students and their families.
