Alumna Blog: One in Two Million at the Inauguration

D.C. was swamped. My two goals for Monday were to meet my friends and family traveling to D.C. and to get my nails done for Biden's Home State Ball the following night. One would imagine these would be easy accomplishments. Not quite since D.C. was buzzing with activity and many confused people. Metro stations were packed, and I found myself walking to places I would usually easily metro to. There was definitely a thrill in the air.
After a long day of rushing around in D.C., I finally made it back to my apartment. My roommate and I are playing host to eight people, in a two-bedroom apartment and sunroom. Our plan originally was to allow some people to stay in the sunroom, but of course this would be the weekend the sunroom floods from our leaking hot water heater. Somehow we made it cozy, and we were all set to go to bed at 11 p.m. for our 5 a.m. wake-up call.
