(Nichols dons the "That Guy" hat and shares what it was like being part
of a "family" and team at Catawba.)

Meet lainey

Lainey Nichols, who hails from Frederick, Md., is a senior English major and art minor at Catawba. She plays center mid on Catawba's women's soccer team. She hopes to pursue a career in public relations after graduation. Lainey is the daughter of Chuck and Kathy Nichols. Lainey's mom, Kathy is a 1981 Catawba alumna who played field hockey and was a cheerleader while she was a student at Catawba.

Lainey and her teammates, with Coach John Cullen, are making a 10-day pre-season, pre-school trip to England, Wales and Ireland during which they will play several exhibition matches. Trip stops include Cambridge, Bath, Bristol, Wales, and Cashel and Limrick City in Ireland. During the trip, Lainey will provide periodic blog postings here on Catawba's website about her team's experiences.
