My Life Is Coming Together!
by Casey Lane Hudgins '08

My life is finally coming together. I have found a wonderful house in my hometown in Virginia to move into, and I am still in the pursuit of a job. I finished my resume and have filled out a few applications to turn in. I am still unsure as to what I want to do when I graduate, but whoever knows at this point in their lives.

Sometimes it is easy to get lost in all of the pre- and post-graduation mess. Graduation is around the corner and I am more than ready. I have been so busy that the past month flew by. Between work, internship, school, dance, moving, and all the extra senior stuff I hardly have time to breath. School is enough with term papers, projects, presentations, portfolios, and paintings. People always say this is the best time of your life so enjoy it. I don’t know who says that, but obviously they weren’t as busy as I am, because I don’t have time to stop and smell the roses.

Oh, and just an aside – I crossed another thing off my senior bucket list. I finished another painting for my art class. It is very satisfying to know that I completed it and it was a project I created all by myself.

Speaking of lists, I have always been a list person, I have to write down my to-do list and then cross it off as I go. This is the only way I can keep up with everything I have to do. If I don’t, I could forget and let something slip through the cracks. Either way, lists are the best way for me to feel like I have actually accomplished something. There is nothing like the feeling of crossing something off that list and then at the end, throwing away the fully accomplished list. The downside is that there is ALWAYS another list.

Wish me luck, because this month is going to be a doozy! Hopefully, I will make it to see graduation, even if I have to crawl across the stage in Keppel Auditorium!
