Shaving Down the Bucket List
by Casey Lane Hudgins '08
I am on my way to finishing up my Bucket List. I have already accomplished five out of the ten.
I am still in the process of learning how to cook, which is a life-long learning experience. I started by getting some of my grandmothers old recipes, which is the easiest way for me to learn by following a recipe. So far it has turned out pretty well and I am proud of myself.
Things I have accomplished or am not going to accomplish include:
I have painted a picture like I wanted. I painted a picture of Bob Marley for a gift. I am still keeping up my painting. I am painting a reproduction of a Hopper painting now in my art class. I hope it turns out well, I guess we will see.
I have tried to spend as much free time with friends as possible. Sometimes, this doesn't work with all of my other responsibilities, but I am trying to take advantage of my free time as much as I can.
Concerning the tattoo and a piercing, I don't think this is an option for me anymore, because I will be graduating and I need to get a job soon so, another piercing or tattoo is kind of out of the question now.
I accomplished my Spring Break plans by going to the beach with a friend and I enjoyed it very much. I am really glad that this was on my Bucket List, because I made it happen.
Finally, I went to Winterfest the winter formal here at Catawba. I had a good time. It is the last Winterfest I will ever be able to attend, so I am glad that I decided to go.
I am going to continue to break down the Bucket List and hopefully by the end of the semester I will have accomplished everything on my list that I wanted. Stay tuned to find out!
