Meet shahin
Catawba College Senior Shahin Soltan of Angered, Sweden, is spending part of his summer in Brussels, Belgium, as an intern with Food Lion/Delhaize. His internship will occur over a ten-week period and provide him with college credit for his work. In his spare time during his internship, he has agreed to share his experiences through a weekly blog posting of "Notes from Brussels."
Shahin will be working fulltime during his internship, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday, but says hopes to travel as much as possible around Europe "to see everything that this beautiful continent has to offer." Some of his planned European stops include France and the Netherlands.
Shahin is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. When he is not in class or doing homework, he says he's probably playing tennis as he is a member of Catawba's tennis team. He currently plays number one for Catawba and during the 2007-2008 academic year, he received the MVP Award.
Shahin, who speaks three languages fluently – English, Swedish, Persian – and knows quite a bit of French, is also a member of Catawba's Ketner School of Business Advisory Board
