Catawba College's Proctor Health Center reports that there is a delay in shipping the H1N1 vaccine — not a shortage, but a delay. The College may have the vaccine in hand by mid-November and students will receive an e-mail from the Health Center when the vaccine is available. According to Kathryn Welborn, Director of the Proctor Health Center, at this time, the Center for Disease Control is adhering to its "tier of need" for distribution of the H1N1 vaccine which means that faculty and staff would not be eligible to receive the vaccine through the College; Only students will be eligible to receive the vaccine through the College.
