Assistant Director of Admissions / athletic liaison
Greetings future Catawban’s! My name is Thomas Giles from Lynchburg, VA and I am the Assistant Director of Admissions and Athletic Liaison here at Catawba College.
What I enjoy most about Catawba College now is our newly renovated and top-notch dining hall, and my favorite place on campus is our Center for the Environment. It is such a cool place to relax and enjoy the view of out preserve.
I earned my B.A. in Communication Arts in 2005 with an emphasis in Public Relations. I strongly believe that my internship on campus with the Public Relations department really amplified my knowledge and sharpened my skills for the real world. I am an alumnus of this beautiful College, played four years of baseball under the leadership of Coach Jim Gantt, and a transfer student myself! I was involved in numerous activities at Catawba, including the Editor of The Pioneer (student newspaper), Phi Epsilon (honor society), Homecoming King, a Resident Assistant, and a member of The Order of the Blue and White (honor society). My message to you is, if you are seeking mentorship, leadership building skills, and a quality education to build your career, I encourage you to come and visit with me.
I am the Admissions Counselor for students from Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
I will be supporting you throughout your entire application process to Catawba and building a lifetime friendship while a student here. Please do not hesitate to contact me! If you would like to receive more information about Catawba College, please complete our Information Request Form.
