My name is Laura Moore and I am from Clayton, North Carolina. I came to Catawba in 2002 for Political Science after meeting the staff and Political Science majors at an open house event. While attending Catawba I was able to gain an internship with Rowan County Government that helped me secure my current position there today. I also participated in the Blue Masque Club, the Political Science Club, and served one term on the Student Government Association.

My husband and I try to attend as many events at Catawba as possible. I love coming to see the Theatre Department's shows. While at Catawba I was working and attending school. I think that provided me a unique perspective and appreciation for my college experience. I was helped tremendously by the Financial Aid Department and still rave about the willingness Catawba has to work with each student. At Catawba I participated in several theatre events, came to football games and really took advantage of the other on campus events free to students.

Currently I work for Rowan County Government with the County Manager and Board of Commissioners. I feel that Catawba helped prepare me for the challenging situations which often face local government and I know as I continue throughout my career I will always know that Catawba helped me get there.
