Meet the Alumni Ambassadorsellen devine '06
"My name is Ellen Devine and I am from Milwaukee WI and a 2002 graduate of Puis XI High School. I came to Catawba in 2002 as a theatre major after learning about the nationally ranked Theatre Program. Although I very much enjoy Theatre I was intrigued by my Political Science and Pre-Law classes.
With the aid of professors I changed my major to Political Science and Pre-Law. My education from the classroom helped me to land an Internship for the Democratic National Committee and gave me the courage and knowledge to start the Catawba College Young Democrats. I left Catawba in 2006 with a B.A. in Political Science Pre-Law.
While at Catawba I spent my time involved in the Student Government Association, the Delphinian Society and the Catawba College Dance Team and Dance Ensemble. I was also employed as a Catawba College Indians Football Manager. After graduation from Catawba I accepted a job working for one of the top local law firms here in Salisbury.
I am now working on the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship as a Legislative Aide. I feel confident that Catawba prepared me for not only my job but also any job in the future. I am still looking in to the possibilities of going to Law School and I know when that day comes I will have strong relationships here at Catawba willing and ready to help in my endeavor."
