Meet the Alumni Ambassadorsbrittany efird '07
"Hello, my name is Brittany Efird, Communication Arts graduate, and a very proud Catawba Alumnae. I am originally from Barrington, RI and joined the Catawba family in 2003.
Like many out-of-state students I had never hear of Catawba. My dad stumbled upon the school while doing an internet search of small schools in North Carolina. The summer before my senior year at BHS my mom and I made the trip to Salisbury, NC. I never in a million thought I would fall in love with Catawba, but the minute we pulled onto campus I did. The warm welcome I received followed by a great meeting with the Admissions staff left me knowing I would join this family for the next four years.
My time at Catawba was the best four years of my life. I immediately became an active member of Catawba by joining The Pioneer. I then joined the field hockey team and not only cheered the Catawba Indians on, but was one! I was always involved and made sure I participated in all that Catawba had to offer. I went to most of the sporting events, theatre productions and events put on by Wigwam Productions. My junior year I met my husband, Whit Efird '07, Catawba football player and Sports Management major. Whit and I were married on December 4, 2008 in Key West, FL and now reside in Oakboro, NC.
A week before graduation I got the news that I would be joining the Admissions staff as an Admissions Counselor for Catawba. I enjoyed representing my Alma Mater and sharing all the wonderful experiences I had at Cat-U. After almost 3-years in Admissions I moved to the Human Resources field at a company in Charlotte.
I cannot express how much I loved Catawba and am so proud to be Alumnae of the college. Please contact with any questions you might have and I hope to see you on our beautiful campus soon!"
